St Pancras International (Award Winner)
Description
The project involved the refurbishment of the Grade 1 Listed St Pancras Station buildings to facilitate Channel Tunnel Rail Link providing a high speed rail link between St Pancras Station and the Channel Tunnel portal near Folkestone in Kent.
The works involved:

Stonewest’s contract involved cleaning, surveying, restoring, conserving and repairing masonry walls which included the restoration of over 300 gauged, red-rubber brick and limestone voussoir arches.

After the cleaning process, Stonewest carried out a thorough inspection of the existing masonry and produced detailed façade repair surveys, photographs and annotated elevation drawings identifying individual defects and the proposed repairs.

Major works included the formation of 15 new gauged, red-rubber and limestone voussoir arches to the West Side Buildings and an additional four to the East Side Buildings International Entrance.
