Brookwood ‘Memorial to the Missing’

Live Project

Client: Commonwealth War Graves Commission
Services Provided: New Build Masonry

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission is building a new Memorial at Brookwood, commemorating those who lost their lives in the UK and Ireland during the First World War and have no known final resting place.

Helping realise the Memorial’s unique design on behalf of the CWGC, Stonewest is crafting the new ‘Memorial to the Missing’. Our stonemasonry experts have prepared the woodland site with low-impact methods, supplying and installing Portland stone steles engraved with names of the missing, arranged to mirror the position of the stars when the war ended on 11 November 1918.

The memorial sits within a carefully landscaped setting that fosters wildlife and offers space for immersive and peaceful remembrance.
