Our Commitment to CPD

Stonewest News

By Andy Ball, Business Development and Technical Director

As part of our brand promise, protecting our heritage and crafting our future, we are committed to supporting the industry as a whole by promoting training and knowledge-sharing among our valued partners and Clients. As such, we are delighted to announce our enhanced CPD programme.

The importance of Continuing Professional Development cannot be underestimated. It not only encourages understanding for the built heritage industry, but elevates relationships and positive ways of working, as well as supporting our partners who will be responsible for designing and procuring the packages of work we undertake.

Stonewest has always prioritised the sharing of information and experience, offering tailored, technical presentations in-house to our Clients and industry professionals. Our enhanced programme is a development and refresh of existing seminar topics, bringing them in-line with industry priorities, that will best inform and support our Clients and partners.

With input from our highly experienced team, we are providing new, relevant content in a series of 45-minute presentations, which we can deliver at our Client’s offices or a nearby venue, with catering as required. We always prefer to be face-to-face with our partners and colleagues however on-line delivery via Teams or Zoom is also available.

With our specialist technical knowledge and experience of complex projects, we can add value and share a unique perspective on the topics we cover. These presentations are tailored to the specific needs and priorities of our Clients, but can include: sustainable conservation and restoration, building pathology, care, repair, refurbishment and maintenance of historic buildings and structures, environmental and carbon impacts, plus the process and timescales involved in identifying, specifying and procuring the scope of work. To complement our offering, we will also be partnering with well-known heritage industry experts to provide a ‘guest lecturer’ section to our CPD delivery.

One of our core company values is ‘Relationships’ – we are proud of the strong, collaborative working relationships we develop with our partners and Clients, built on foundations of trust and professionalism. Our CPD programme is an extension of our commitment to delivering over and above for our Clients and our aim is to further strengthen relationships and mutual understanding. These sessions are also an opportunity to discuss solutions, initiatives and project developments face-to-face, ultimately resulting in more collaborative working and greater scope to deliver excellence and success.

As well as knowledge sharing, we aim to support our Clients by offering a channel for professionals to complete their formal CPD training requirements, relevant to their respective registrations or chartered status (RIBA & RICS & CIOB). Clients can also improve and reinforce their supply chain and offering to their own Client base. As we approach the final months of 2022, now is the time to ensure professional training requirements have been met.
