Project Overview
Internal and external refurbishment of the Russell Hotel. Stonewest presented “one stop shopping” from the Conditional Survey of the existing façades, terracotta procurement followed by the cleaning and repair works themselves.
Key Successes
- Cleaning to all facades and chimneys using carefully controlled steam cleaning (ThermaTech) system.
- Repair and replacement of damaged terracotta, brickwork and stone to all facades including glazed brick lightwells.
- Construction of new terracotta walls and vaulted ceilings to main entrance vestibule.
- Adaption of existing terracotta openings incorporating reclaimed and new terracotta.
- Take down and re-build/replacement of ground floor terracotta piers and plinths.
- Adaptions and infills to glazed brickwork openings in lightwells.
