The Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club clubhouse was built in 1939 and has been listed as a Grade III historic building since 2010.

Stonewest (HK) played a key role in restoring the historic granite and masonry elements to their former glory.

Key Successes

  • Cleaning of existing granite retaining walls using the Joss Vortech cleaning system.
  • Granite mortar and indent repair using salvaged and new material.
  • Repointing works using both hydraulic-lime to match the original mortars and a more modern ribbon pointing on the external facade.
  • Paint removal on the barrel vault ceilings to return the finish to the original facing brickwork.
  • Brick replacement and consolidation of brick surfaces.
  • Installation of new dry fixed granite walls to match original walls.
